Jae Hyun Cho, National Security

Jae Hyun Cho is an undergraduate researcher working at the intersection of international security studies and quantitative legal analysis. His research in international security focuses on urban warfare, nuclear strategy, and East Asian security dynamics, with particular attention to the implications of great-power competition and a shifting global order for Canadian sovereignty and defence policy. In parallel, he specializes in computational legal analysis using natural language processing and machine-learning methods. He has worked as a research assistant on projects spanning AI governance, computational social science, and security studies. His current work applies computational techniques to assess semantic change in the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court of Canada and conducts comparative semantic analysis with the U.S. Supreme Court and the UK Supreme Court.
