Dr. Deqo Visits UTSC
Dr. Deqo Mohamed visited the University of Toronto Scarborough from November 12-14, 2025. During her visit, she delivered a lecture on Somalia and famine mitigation, drawing on her extensive humanitarian and medical experience to highlight the intersections of conflict, climate vulnerability, and community‑driven resilience. In addition to her talk, Dr. Deqo met with d faculty from Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences, the Department of Biological Sciences, and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue on health systems, food security, and global development. Her visit strengthened collaborative pathways between UTSC and international partners, offering students and researchers a rare opportunity to engage directly with a global leader in humanitarian innovation.
